What we are aiming for

We want this store to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, with the keyboard only, or with text enlarged. We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA, which is also the standard behind the European Accessibility Act.

What we have done

• Text and background colours are chosen to keep contrast high, and no information is carried by colour alone.
• Every image that carries meaning has a text description.
• The store can be navigated with the keyboard, and the focused element is visible.
• Headings follow a real order, so a screen reader can move through the page structure.
• The page reflows to a single column on small screens and when text is enlarged.
• Animation is reduced when your system asks for reduced motion.

Where we fall short

The products we sell are PDF planners designed to be written on by hand on an e-ink tablet. They are not screen-reader documents, and their pages are laid out for a pen rather than for assistive technology. We say this plainly rather than claim otherwise.
